Comedic Crimes: Teenager Faces Charges for Taping Fish To ATM machines and Police Cars.
A 17-year-old boy faces 2 charges of property damage after allegedly taping fish to ATM machines and 1 police car, in Utah, on 12 different occasions.
This is the weirdest crime I have ever read about, I had to share it on Medium.
The teenager set up an Instagram account with the handle- @fish_bandit84. He posted every time he taped a fish to an ATM. In one of his posts, he tapes a fish with a cigarette in its mouth to an ATM, this post got 363,000 likes!
The account had 52,000 followers and its bio read “Live, laugh, tape fish on ATMs”, followed by “No fish were hurt in the process”. This guy has his priorities straight!
The most explosive stunt the Fish Bandit managed to pull off was when he taped three trout to a police car’s door. This was a high-stakes prank and the Fish Bandit didn’t get away lightly.
The Utah, Provo local PD, launched an investigation, when they found his Instagram account they issued a search warrant to find the account owner. The crimes have been resolved and the Fish Bandit case has been sent to Juvenile justice and youth services in Utah.
The police do not know the Fish Bandit’s motive, but I suspect it’s the workings of a bored teenager, having some fun.
